The Great Plains Studies interdisciplinary program promotes research on human populations and ecosystems across the expansive, low-density Great Plains region. This immense territory extends west from the Missouri River to the Rocky Mountains, and north from the Rio Grande through Canada's prairie provinces. Administered through the College of Arts and Sciences and supported by the Center for Great Plains Studies - a cross-disciplinary, multi-college research and education hub authorized by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents - this specialization is available to graduate students enrolled in various UNL programs including Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication, Agronomy, Anthropology/Geography, Architecture, Communication Studies, Community and Regional Planning, Economics, English, Geosciences, History, Natural Resource Sciences, Teaching, Learning & Teacher Education, and Textiles, Clothing and Design.
