The MCRP program equips graduates to drive transformation in communities and regions while advancing environmental sustainability and social equity at local and global scales. As New Mexico's sole nationally-accredited planning degree, the MCRP prepares students for research and professional roles across diverse sectors including community organizations, nonprofits, private firms, and government agencies at all levels.

This program focuses on the dynamic relationships between communities and their surrounding environments, both natural and constructed. Through a community-centered methodology, it tackles interconnected challenges in economic development, environmental resource management, and urban design planning.
