The Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program (BSGP), in collaboration with UNM's Anderson School of Management (ASM), provides a Professional Science and Technology Management Concentration (PSTM) option for both M.S. and Ph.D. candidates in Biomedical Sciences. This initiative aims to equip students for careers across various sectors—including industry, government, and non-profits—while maintaining the rigorous laboratory training fundamental to all BSGP degrees. The career prospects for science graduates have transformed significantly in recent years, extending far beyond traditional academic roles.
While core scientific competencies remain crucial, modern trainees benefit greatly from additional expertise in management and business principles, preparing them for diverse career paths both within and outside higher education. Students can pursue the PSTM track after successfully finishing BSGP's foundational first-year coursework.
