The Bioinformatics and Genomics Concentration delivers state-of-the-art education in computational biology to investigate critical biomedical research questions. Faculty research encompasses diverse areas such as: evolutionary genomics and proteomics, genome comparisons, protein architecture and folding, DNA sequence analysis, and molecular imaging. Some laboratories may combine computational approaches with experimental wet-lab techniques.
PhD candidates are expected to apply computational methodologies from this program to their dissertation work. The curriculum and research plan will be customized for each student through collaboration with their academic advisors and dissertation committees.
