The Bachelor of Arts in Native American Studies is an interdisciplinary program that familiarizes students with the fundamental elements distinguishing Indigenous communities from mainstream American society. This degree also enables learners to explore persistent cultural distinctions between Native and non-Native populations through diverse educational approaches, including hands-on and community-based learning experiences.

The program's objectives, which support its overarching aims, include:

establishing foundational knowledge in discipline-specific methodologies addressing Native concerns across education, language preservation, economic systems, legal frameworks, governance, philosophy, mental health, creative expression, and media,
offering meaningful academic experiences beyond traditional classroom settings,
guiding students in connecting theoretical knowledge with practical application through fieldwork or research projects, and
fostering ongoing discussions and partnerships between students, educators, and Indigenous communities to continually enhance the Native Studies program.
