Occupational therapy empowers individuals across all age groups to maximize their quality of life, facilitating engagement in employment, education, recreation, household responsibilities, personal care, and community involvement. Clients may face obstacles stemming from health conditions, injuries, or other circumstances. Occupational therapists employ various approaches to meet individual requirements: developing abilities, modifying activity requirements, and utilizing adaptive tools to enhance participation in meaningful tasks. At UNH's OT program, students gain expertise in addressing clients' physical, emotional, and social needs, focusing on personal priorities to restore health, autonomy, and confidence.
UNH equips future occupational therapy practitioners with forward-looking skills. The integrated bachelor's/graduate pathway enables students to earn their undergraduate degree and seamlessly progress into either a master's-level entry-degree OT program or a clinical doctorate. Our curriculum prioritizes experiential learning with an emphasis on community-oriented services. Through academic internships in community initiatives, students directly implement their classroom knowledge. Collaborative research with faculty and involvement in program enhancement further enriches the educational experience. Demanding yet fulfilling fieldwork placements ready students for diverse professional environments. The Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) offers supplementary learning, volunteer, and networking prospects for participants.
Each student must have their official high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
