Gannon's Occupational Therapy Program at the Erie campus launched in 1992 and has since trained generations of skilled occupational therapists. The program is now evolving into a doctoral program, with the inaugural class of the Entry-Level Occupational Therapy Doctoral program expected to begin in fall 2024, maintaining the legacy of developing exceptional practitioners.

Qualification Requirements

Completion of 16 academic units at the high school level four of which must be English remainder of units are to be compromised of four units of social sciences two to four units of mathematics including algebra two to four units of science including biology and chemistry with labs
Gannon is a test-blind institution for a majority of our academic programs however some academic programs that are partnered with professional schools still require SATACT score submission and for certain scores to be met The Occupational Therapy program is test-blind therefore test scores are not reviewed as part of the admission process with the primary focus being academic course selection in high school grades personal statements and recommendation letters SATACT scores can be submitted but are not mandatory
A minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0
Demonstrate motivation and curiosity through interests and extracurricular activities
Letters of recommendation are considered as is the personal statement that is submitted as part of the application process It is encouraged that the essay discuss a students reasons for pursuing a career in occupational therapy
Observation or volunteer hours in occupational therapy clinics are not required for admission but 40 hours are required for the Introduction to Occupational Therapy course your first semester Getting these hours ahead of time is recommended additionally you then have the possibility of getting letters of recommendation from therapists which can increase your chances of acceptance
Transcripts - Accepted international students must provide official or attested transcripts prior to arriving on campus.
