The Departmental Honors program (formerly called Honors in Major) enables students to engage in rigorous, in-depth work within their disciplines. This initiative focuses on personalized, student-driven curricula and fosters collaborative partnerships between students and faculty members.

Any UNH student meeting the GPA requirements may participate in Departmental Honors. While University Honors Program students must complete Departmental Honors to graduate with Honors distinction, UHP membership is not required to pursue Departmental Honors.

The Biomedical Science Departmental Honors track allows exceptional students to stand out by undertaking demanding coursework and engaging research projects in their specialized field. You will collaborate closely with faculty, delve deeper into your academic interests, and cultivate valuable skills applicable to careers, graduate studies, or professional environments after graduation. Successful completion results in Honors in Biomedical Science notation on your diploma, demonstrating academic excellence to prospective employers and graduate admissions committees.
