The geography program connects local and global viewpoints, blending environmental and social sciences. We examine the connections between people and their surroundings, investigating the structure, purpose, and interpretations of locations and how they evolve and interact. Geographic understanding is crucial for addressing today's pressing issues like climate change, environmental risks, social equity, political tensions, public wellness, globalization, sustainable practices, and urban/rural growth. Whether you're exploring nearby areas or far-off corners of the world, Geography opens doors to discovery.
Geography offers boundless opportunities. Our students develop robust skills in both social and natural sciences, learn to synthesize varied knowledge, and master spatial data analysis through digital cartography, preparing them for diverse careers across private, public, and nonprofit fields. With intimate class settings, tailored guidance, and chances for self-directed learning, you'll receive exceptional individual support. You can pursue internships with organizations ranging from forest services to global aid groups and urban planning boards, plus study internationally in destinations like China, Ghana, Italy, Denmark, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Spain, and Vietnam.
Each student must have their official high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
