The M.A.T. in History is perfect for middle and high school social studies and history educators looking to deepen their expertise in a particular historical area. Our program delivers specialized courses and mentorship designed to fit seamlessly with your existing teaching responsibilities. You'll have chances to work alongside faculty from the College of Education and Human Development while developing cutting-edge curriculum materials ready for classroom implementation. Please be aware this degree doesn't qualify graduates for K-12 teaching certification in Nevada public schools, as applicants typically hold this qualification already.
Participants strengthen their knowledge in two chosen concentration areas while developing advanced research, writing, and teaching methodologies.
Applicants to the M.A.T. program must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university, with a major or a 24-semester-credit minor in history, education (history or social-studies emphasis), or a closely related discipline. A cumulative grade point average of 2.75 is required.
Minimum score requirements: TOEFL: 550 (paper) or 79 (internet), IELTS: 6.5 (academic version).
Application Deadlines: Feb. 1
