The Geography department provides a Bachelor of Arts degree program focused on Geography. This BA program highlights human geography, blending it with physical geography while building expertise in geospatial analysis, human-environment relationships, and geotechnology applications (including GIS, Remote Sensing, and Cartography). Students work closely with advisors to create personalized study plans within the degree framework. Specialization areas cover cultural geography, climate studies, urban planning, water resource management, biogeography, sustainability, and environmental equity. Regular meetings with academic advisors are strongly recommended each term.

To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate from an approved or accredited high school. You must have a 3.0 weighted GPA in the academic core courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno.
Verification of having met the English requirement through one of the following options: TOEFL score 61+; IELTS (must be academic version) with a score of 6.0+; Duolingo English Exam score 95+; Cambridge score of B2+.
