The 60-credit Master of Education (M.Ed.) in School Counseling equips future counselors to address the academic, career, personal, and social development needs of culturally diverse K-12 students.
Courses are scheduled weekly during late afternoons and evenings to fit around students' work and internship commitments. While most instruction occurs in-person on campus, certain courses may be available fully online or in a blended format.
Program Objectives
Graduates of this program will gain the ability to:
Uphold human dignity and advocate for students while maintaining professional counselor identities grounded in ethical principles and theoretical knowledge.
Serve as effective leaders and advocates who apply multicultural and social justice counseling competencies across individual, institutional, and societal contexts.
Utilize developmental understanding to inform counseling strategies tailored to students' specific needs.
Incorporate career development theories and practices to support comprehensive life planning for students.
