The Hospitality Management Major provides a comprehensive education for careers in the hospitality sector. Its diverse curriculum equips students with both managerial principles and practical skills needed to succeed across various industry segments after graduation. Alongside the university's core requirements, students enroll in specialized courses covering hospitality fundamentals, HR management, organizational behavior, facilities operations, hospitality law, and leadership/ethics training. The program also includes instruction in food safety, food service management, cost analysis, career planning, accounting principles, financial strategies, service operations, and strategic business management.
Students pursuing the Hospitality Beverage Management Concentration must complete either FAB 410 (Food and Beverage Culminating Experience) or FAB 468 (Food and Beverage Culminating Seminar) as part of their major's capstone requirements. Note that credit cannot be received for both FAB 410 and FAB 468, as they are considered equivalent courses. Either FAB 410 or 468 may be selected to fulfill one of the graduation-required culminating experience courses for the major.
