The Master of Arts in history program aims to cultivate students' comprehension of both historical content and the professional practice of history. This approach encourages students to view history as more than just a chronological sequence of occurrences.
Following the professionalization of history during the late 1800s, scholars have focused on interpreting not just historical occurrences but also their underlying causes. Over time, this pursuit has generated a growing body of sophisticated resources that enhance our grasp of bygone eras. This evolution has also given rise to various interpretive frameworks, many of which have been challenged or revised.
To gain meaningful historical insight, graduate students must study both past events and the scholarly perspectives applied to them. Accordingly, our MA program ensures students engage with historical occurrences, primary sources, and the scholars who have analyzed them. Through this comprehensive approach, graduates develop a substantially richer historical understanding than when they began their studies.
Our History Graduate Program enhances your knowledge by facilitating in-depth research and critical examination of historically significant periods and regions that have shaped political and social landscapes.
