The bachelor's program in communication disorders offers essential foundational knowledge needed to advance to graduate studies. To enter professional practice in this field, an Au.D. is required for audiology and an M.S. for speech-language pathology.
Students majoring in communication disorders must achieve and maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. Credit/No Credit courses cannot be used to satisfy any required content, professional, or major coursework in speech-language pathology. All professional courses for the Bachelor's in Communication Disorders demand at least a C grade. Any incomplete grades or scores below C in these specific requirements must be rectified. Students should consult their academic advisors for guidance. This undergraduate program serves as a pre-professional qualification and does not result in certification or licensure. Audiology requires a doctoral degree for professional entry, while speech-language pathology necessitates a master's degree. Finishing UNO's undergraduate communication disorders program does not ensure acceptance into their graduate speech-language pathology program.
