The Civil Engineering Department provides a comprehensive undergraduate program for University of Nebraska students at both Lincoln's City Campus and Omaha's Scott Campus. Course requirements are virtually the same at both locations. The program aims to equip graduates for immediate entry into civil engineering careers or advanced academic pursuits. Civil engineers create and build transportation networks - roads, railways, waterways, and airports - linking rural, urban, and industrial zones. They also develop residential spaces and facilities for recreational, business, and industrial use that form our urban landscapes. A key duty of civil engineering involves reducing environmental pollution in air, water, and soil while safeguarding natural resources.
