The Barkley Center, which houses the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders, creates an engaging setting for academic, clinical, and research pursuits. The department's programs focus on training professionals to support people with special education requirements or communication challenges related to speech, language, balance, or hearing. Students can pursue various graduate degrees, including Master of Education and Master of Arts in special education, Master of Science in speech-language pathology (with both thesis and non-thesis tracks), Doctor of Audiology, Ph.D. in special education, and Ph.D. in Human Sciences with a concentration in communication disorders.
