The Master of Science in Special Education equips graduates to become champions and support systems for children with disabilities and their families, collaborating with educational institutions and community organizations to enhance the lives of these students. This MS program provides two specialized tracks: the Teacher Certification pathway and the Research and Theory concentration.
Those completing the Teacher Certification track qualify for Wisconsin's K-12 cross-categorical Special Education teaching license. This career-focused program trains individuals for immediate entry into Special Education teaching roles. Participants in this track cannot hold teaching, project, or research assistantships that provide tuition remission. Furthermore, students may not enroll in courses beyond the specified curriculum or pursue concurrent degree programs while in this track.
International applicants must have a degree comparable to a regionally accredited U.S. bachelor’s degree.
