The graduate program in Women's and Gender Studies enhances students' preparedness for pursuing higher academic degrees or entering diverse professional fields within their chosen disciplines. The WGS Program maintains collaborative ties with departments including Anthropology, Art and Art History, Communication Studies, English, History, Political Science, and Sociology. For degree programs without an official WGS concentration, students may pursue it as a minor. Both the specialization and minor options offer rigorous academic engagement with gender, sexuality, and diversity studies through the interdisciplinary lens of Women's and Gender Studies.

Three recommendation letters
Writing sample: One paper, no more than 20 pages. Example: a paper you wrote for a political science class.
Personal Statement: This two-page statement should describe your immediate educational and long-term career goals and how graduate study in political science at Nebraska will help you achieve your goals. Discuss which area or research question within political science that you want to investigate during your graduate studies. If there is a particular faculty member with whom you wish to study, give that person's name and explain why you want to study with that person. You may also include other information, such as undergraduate research experience, internships, or other experiences you may have had to prepare you for advanced study in political science.
