Students who successfully finish these two field endorsements are qualified to instruct all elementary subjects from kindergarten to 6th grade in any school. Additionally, they can teach in 7th and 8th grade self-contained classrooms, where one educator covers multiple subjects for most of the school day. The endorsement also qualifies them to work with children and youth who have mild to moderate disabilities, including developmental delays, learning disabilities, speech/language impairments, mild/moderate intellectual disabilities, behavioral disorders, physical impairments, autism, health conditions, traumatic brain injuries, and students in multi-categorical programs from K-6. This comprehensive program involves coursework beyond a single endorsement, requiring more than 120 credit hours.
