Madonna University's teacher preparation programs for elementary and secondary education have received approval from the Michigan Department of Education and accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The institution endorses candidates for both initial (Provisional) certification and the Professional Education certificate, along with supplementary endorsements for current certifications. Additionally, Madonna recommends students for the Interim Occupational Certificate (previously known as Temporary Vocational Authorization), qualifying them to teach in state-funded vocational classrooms for grades 9-12. Prospective teacher education students should follow these steps: declare their teaching career aspirations (either elementary or secondary level) when applying to the university, then request admission to the teacher education program while enrolled in EDU 2000 (typically during the third or fourth semester for full-time students).
Current high school students and high school graduates who have not enrolled in a post-secondary institution after high school apply to Madonna as a freshman.
