The Department of Geosciences provides Master's and Doctoral programs in geosciences, with particular emphasis on water and earth sciences. Almost all our alumni secure positions within geoscience or adjacent industries. From 2001 to 2010, we awarded 101 advanced degrees, with over 95% of graduates establishing careers across diverse sectors including nonprofits, energy, environmental consulting, and academia. Our 73% completion rate over the past decade significantly surpasses the national average by nearly fourfold.
Entry into our graduate program is highly selective, with recent acceptance rates around 20%. The majority of enrolled students receive financial support through Teaching or Research Assistantships. Every faculty member supervises graduate students, with research group sizes adapting to advisor requirements and funding circumstances.
