Our graduate program offers adaptable coursework, enabling students to focus on their preferred sociology specialties. Regardless of your academic path, you'll graduate with robust training in sociological principles and investigative techniques. The Master's program maintains an intimate size—with class groups ranging from five to ten students—and operates within a department that doesn't offer doctoral studies. This structure ensures you receive significantly more personalized faculty mentorship compared to larger institutions.
Every sociology instructor holds a doctorate in the field. Three out of four full-time faculty members additionally possess specialized criminology credentials. Our faculty members have obtained substantial research funding from prestigious organizations including the National Science Foundation and U.S. Department of Justice. Master's candidates have opportunities to collaborate on faculty research projects through our criminology research initiative.
