The Department of Sociology and Criminology provides a graduate program culminating in a Master of Arts degree in both sociology and criminology. This program equips students with theoretical frameworks and research methodologies to analyze social issues and enhance community well-being. Students can specialize in either criminology or sociology during their MA studies. Upon completion, graduates will qualify for professional roles such as analysts, research specialists, program coordinators, policy advisors, and administrative leaders. Additionally, the curriculum offers excellent preparation for doctoral studies in conventional sociology and criminology disciplines.

Students must have a 3.0 overall undergraduate GPA
Students with a GPA below 3.0 but who have counterbalancing evidence to suggest potential for success may be admitted on a provisional basis, but are not eligible for funding from the department.
