The Master of Arts in Sociology delivers distinctive learning experiences through diverse courses covering theory, research methodology, criminology, social psychology, social inequality, and more. Students gain hands-on research experience by working alongside faculty, enabling them to design a personalized curriculum that stimulates intellectual growth. Prospective students must demonstrate foundational knowledge equivalent to 3 semester hours each in sociological theory, research methods, and statistics. Those lacking these prerequisites may need to complete remedial coursework promptly after enrollment. The graduate advisor will notify accepted students about any required deficiency courses. Qualification Requirements

An applicant whose native language is not English must present an IELTS score of 6.5 or alternatively, a TOEFL score of at least 80 on the TOELF ibt. Normally, to be considered for admission, a non-U.S. citizen shall have completed a four-year undergraduate degree. A minimum 2.75 overall GPA on a 4.00 system or a 3.20 GPA with 15 or more semester hours of graduate work at an accredited institution.
