Students enrolled in the Diesel Equipment Technology program prepare to become diesel technicians who maintain and fix diesel-powered trucks and heavy machinery. The curriculum covers hydraulics, electrical and fuel systems, powertrains, air conditioning, brakes and suspension, engine theory, and diagnostics, starting with fundamental concepts and advancing to sophisticated system technologies. In addition to these core subjects, students participate in courses on welding, machining, computers, communication, and mathematics. Independent study credit is offered for those seeking extra training in diesel mechanics. Graduates of the program receive an Associate of Applied Science degree.

Qualification Requirements

To be considered for undergraduate admission to University of Montana, all international applicants must demonstrate English proficiency by submitting a score on an approved test or by qualifying for an exemption.
