The Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis at the College of Education collaborates with the School of Law to provide a combined program where students can earn both an MA in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (specializing in Higher Education) and a JD degree. While the MA typically takes two years and the JD requires three, most students can finish this dual program within four years. The curriculum fulfills JD requirements through 83 law credits plus 6 education elective credits (totaling 89 credits). For the MA, students complete 24 credits in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis courses and 9 law school elective credits. Each student's higher education study plan must be approved by their departmental advisor and the Director of Graduate Studies. The program structure begins with foundational law and educational leadership coursework before advancing to specialized classes. Typically, dual-degree students complete their first year with standard law school courses, then balance education and law classes throughout the remaining program.
Duration - 4 Years
Credits - 89.
