Suffolk Law's accelerated JD program caters to ambitious, highly dedicated students eager to tackle year-round coursework and complete their degree a full year faster than traditional programs. Given its rigorous pace, admission is competitive and seats are limited.
Participants in Suffolk Law's accelerated track can obtain their JD in just 24 months (full-time) or 36 months (part-time evening). While following the same core curriculum and credit requirements as standard JD programs, accelerated students compress their timeline by attending summer sessions before and after their first year.
Graduates can pursue domestic or international legal practice addressing discrimination based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability, along with police misconduct, free speech disputes, genocide concerns, children's rights violations, modern slavery, human trafficking, war crimes, and other critical issues covered by the U.S. Constitution's Bill of Rights and the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Civil and human rights law, while rarely lucrative, offers profound personal fulfillment. These complex cases require navigating intricate political, ethical, and legal considerations, demanding not just determination but innovative thinking. This field presents unique opportunities to apply one's skills in service of underserved populations whose legal challenges often go unaddressed.
