The PhD in Statistics equips students for leadership roles in statistical research, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration, whether in academic settings, government agencies, or private industry.
Our Statistics Department offers teaching and research programs spanning contemporary methodological approaches and applied statistical fields. The curriculum encompasses diverse areas of theoretical and computational statistics, along with practical applications for cutting-edge data types.
This program aims to cultivate future innovators who will pioneer novel statistical methods, modeling techniques, computational approaches, and groundbreaking applications.
The program requires at least 72 credit hours. A doctoral committee must approve all coursework counting toward this requirement and may mandate additional studies. With Graduate School approval, up to 30 hours of qualifying post-baccalaureate credits from accredited institutions may be transferred toward the doctoral requirements.
