The statistics doctoral program is structured as a three-year curriculum for students entering with a bachelor's degree, or a two-year track for those holding a master's in statistics. Students must complete comprehensive exams on master's-level content by their first year's end or upon program entry. The initial year primarily focuses on coursework, while the second year transitions students into research activities. By their third year, candidates should have finished required courses and begun dedicated research work. The program mandates 36 credit hours (12 approved non-thesis courses), with permission allowing up to three courses from external departments or selected master's-level offerings, including interdisciplinary options. Each student's academic plan requires endorsement from the department's graduate advisor.
