The graduate program focuses on equipping students for academic roles in teaching, research, and extension, along with professional opportunities in agrifood industries, government agencies, and global agricultural sectors. The 30-credit M.S. program provides both thesis and non-thesis pathways, featuring an accelerated option for University of Missouri undergraduates majoring in agribusiness or related fields. Typically, the Ph.D. program takes approximately three additional years after completing a master's degree. With its extensive, high-caliber faculty, students enjoy wide-ranging options for mentorship and research focus areas. Though study plans are flexible and tailored by students with their advisory committees, key specializations include: Environmental and Development Economics, Managerial, Behavioral & Organizational Economics, and Public Policy Analysis.
