Developmental Neuroscience explores diverse fundamental and disease-related biological mechanisms across vertebrate and invertebrate organisms. These investigations seek to decipher the intricate molecular and cellular processes governing both healthy and impaired brain formation. In the U.S. alone, countless children experience neurological conditions stemming from developmental irregularities, including muscular dystrophy, cognitive impairments, developmental delays, neurometabolic diseases, and brain or environmental injuries. The Center for Developmental Biology enhances this research field by promoting collaborations with developmental biologists within and beyond Neuroscience, as well as with the Stem Cell Institute's research initiatives.
