The University of Minnesota's Graduate School provides a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program through its Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences. Degree requirements are established jointly by the Graduate School and the department, with comprehensive guidelines available in the Graduate School Catalog. This AuD program aims to train clinical professionals specializing in hearing and balance disorders. Participants will learn to apply evidence-based approaches when working with patients. The curriculum emphasizes developing skills in analyzing research, implementing new discoveries, and effective communication. Students gain hands-on experience through academic instruction, lab work, and direct patient interaction. Upon completion, graduates qualify for professional audiology certifications at both state and national levels.
Anyone who has or will obtain a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or a comparable degree from an officially recognized college or university outside the U.S. may apply for graduate admission.
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.00.
