Chemical engineering involves processes like material transport, blending, fluid dynamics and measurement, shaping through extrusion, surface coating, thermal energy transfer, separation by filtration, moisture removal, liquid concentration, component separation via distillation, gas absorption, solvent extraction, ion exchange, oxidation reactions, catalytic processes, and operations within chemical and biological reactors. Given that numerous industries rely on altering matter's chemical or physical properties, chemical engineers are highly sought after. Their expertise applies to producing inorganic substances (fertilizers, coatings, ceramic materials, electronics components), creating organic compounds (plastics, thin films, paper products, petroleum derivatives), developing energy storage devices, refining minerals and raw materials, food production and microbial processes, as well as manufacturing pharmaceuticals and biological compounds.
