Upon acceptance into the program, students are required to complete four specific 3-credit-hour explosives courses, totaling 12 credit hours as outlined. To earn the undergraduate certificate, a student must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 across the certificate courses. While participants in the certificate program hold non-matriculated status, achieving a grade of B or higher in each course makes them eligible to apply for the S&T mining engineering B.S. program. Credits from the certificate may be applied toward the bachelor's degree for admitted B.S. students, subject to degree requirements. Prerequisites outside this certificate can be waived by the administrative co-coordinators for individuals not enrolled as regular Missouri S&T mining engineering students. Once enrolled, students have three years to finish the certificate, provided they sustain a 2.0 GPA in their coursework.
