American Studies offers an interdisciplinary exploration of American society. This program delivers a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary examination of key societal issues, focusing on historical, cultural, and political contexts. The faculty represents diverse academic backgrounds and specialties. Students in the American Studies major engage in distinctive interdisciplinary learning about American culture, developing analytical viewpoints on both historical and modern subjects. They often tailor their education by selecting from the program's extensive course offerings. Departmental courses cover diverse subjects such as pop culture, government, immigration, faith, historical events, racial dynamics, gender studies, and sexuality, alongside pressing concerns like America's global role, international relations, post-9/11 developments, and economic disparities. Choosing American Studies enables students to focus on specific interests while receiving wide-ranging training across multiple disciplines. The curriculum fosters writing proficiency, analytical reasoning, and research capabilities, culminating in a Senior Project. The Senior Seminar, exclusively for graduating American Studies majors, is a year-long intensive where students collaborate with faculty to create a significant research endeavor that serves as their undergraduate capstone. This distinctive experience empowers students to apply their acquired knowledge through original research or creative projects that showcase their specialized focus areas.

English Language Proficiency Requirements: TOEFL iBT – 79; IELTS Academic – 6.5; Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE Academic) – 59; Cambridge Assessment English (CAE) C1 Advanced – 180.
Application Deadline for Fall: For freshmen international students the deadlines are November 1 (early action 1 deadline), December 1 (early action 2 deadline) and January 1 (regular deadline)
