As a graduate student pursuing your master's degree, you'll collaborate with a faculty advisor to create a customized academic plan and research initiatives aligned with your specific interests. This program offers a thesis track option. Those enrolled in the Movement Science Master of Science program explore human movement through multiple lenses. Our distinguished faculty are renowned experts across various movement-related disciplines, including exercise physiology, motor control and development, biomechanics, and sports injury prevention. Beyond classroom learning, our curriculum offers hands-on research opportunities in critical areas like obesity, diabetes, joint injury mechanisms and prevention, concussion studies, movement rehabilitation, and motor skill development throughout life. The program frequently fosters interdisciplinary partnerships with departments such as engineering, psychology, public health, and medicine. A key strength of our program lies in its adaptable curriculum and diverse research options, enabling students to shape their educational journey according to personal goals. Alumni emerge equipped for advanced doctoral research, healthcare professional programs (including medical and rehabilitation fields), health promotion careers, and roles in both corporate and government settings.
Applicants complete a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association; or complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned.
