Tailored for students pursuing the most advanced qualification in their discipline, the DMA offers an intensive three-year program that concludes with three doctoral performances instead of a traditional thesis. This doctoral certification is granted based on proven proficiency rather than accumulated credits. Typically, the program demands six semesters of full-time enrollment following a master's degree. Candidates must achieve candidacy status by the start of their sixth semester.
Applicants to the Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance: Winds & Percussion must have completed a master’s of music degree or equivalent to be eligible for admission.
