Students completing the undergraduate Secondary Certification Program emerge as skilled, compassionate, and thoughtful educators qualified to instruct grades 6-12 in their selected subject areas. The program combines rigorous coursework, professional training, and hands-on classroom practice. Graduates develop both teaching methodologies and specialized content expertise, equipping them to effectively educate varied student populations in secondary school settings. Participants acquire practical skills for integrating technology into modern educational environments. Upon finishing the program, students receive their bachelor's degree from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters along with the College of Education, Health, and Human Services' endorsement for the Michigan Secondary Standard Certificate, including their primary teaching focus and potential additional subject area qualifications.
