Students explore Peabody's Department of Teaching and Learning as they ascend the grand stone staircase and pass between the majestic columns of the Faye and Joe B. Wyatt Center, the impressive domed building that anchors Peabody's campus. However, any comparison to an isolated academic institution stops there. The department's faculty dedicate just as much time in Nashville's public school classrooms and corridors as they do in university seminar rooms, resulting in some of the nation's most well-trained educators.
"Our students receive remarkable hands-on guidance during their field placements, bridging academic concepts with real-world classroom applications," explains Professor Rogers Hall, Department Chair. "This practical experience, coupled with instruction from faculty who are both research-informed and deeply attuned to children's learning processes, creates an exceptional educational program."
All candidates for admission must present transcripts of work completed in high school.
