The Chemistry Department provides Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs, focusing primarily on the Ph.D. Students can specialize in analytical, inorganic, organic, or physical chemistry. Details about faculty research areas and joint initiatives can be found on the faculty webpage.

Graduate students joining with either a Bachelor's or Master's degree must complete at least eighteen credit hours of first-year coursework covering inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry. They also participate in seminar sessions where faculty present their research focus. Through these seminars and one-on-one discussions, students select their research advisor before completing their initial semester.
