The Bachelor of Arts in Ecosystem Science and Policy provides excellent preparation for careers in law, government, and business sectors, including professional graduate programs and environmental roles in both public and private sectors.
BA candidates can select either the STEM or People & Society cognate for their major, while completing the remaining cognate plus Arts & Humanities requirements. Those with a dual major in another school should consult their advisors about specific requirements. While ECS core courses can't double-count for multiple program requirements, they may fulfill cognate, minor, or secondary major requirements outside the core. Arts & Sciences students must complete four Writing Intensive (W) courses, with BA candidates in ECS required to take at least two (and up to four) W courses from ECS offerings like ECS 113, 301, 302, 402, and 403. A maximum of two W courses may come from other departments. Students whose primary degree is elsewhere should adhere to their home school's writing requirements.
