The Master of Fine Arts in Artisanry - Ceramics is a 60-credit program spanning 2 to 3 years. This ceramics curriculum provides intensive studio practice addressing both technical skills and creative problem-solving. Students refine their craft through continuous inquiry and innovation, mastering materials and techniques while cultivating meaningful artistic concepts. The program supports graduate students in exploring personal creative directions, whether in functional pottery or ceramic sculpture. Studio practice is enriched by coursework covering clay and glaze chemistry, kiln design, and the historical and aesthetic context of ceramics. Each student receives personalized mentorship from faculty advisors to foster artistic growth. Weekly one-on-one sessions and monthly group critiques provide structured feedback. The program concludes with both a visual thesis exhibition and a written thesis document.
