ISU's sculpture program provides training across diverse mediums including metalwork, woodworking, plaster, textiles, lighting techniques, polyester resins, and multimedia approaches. The 4,600-square-foot sculpture facility in Fine Arts West features dedicated spaces for welding, metalwork, woodcraft, and multimedia projects, all equipped with an overhead bridge crane system. Students have access to various power tools, welding equipment (M.I.G., T.I.G., and stick welders), plasma cutters, shears, brakes, and other industrial-grade machinery, creating a dynamic, professional learning environment. Graduate candidates are urged to explore multiple materials and methods to hone their artistic vision. Demonstrating technical proficiency and conceptual depth through a professional-quality thesis exhibition is mandatory for degree completion, equipping graduates for successful careers in the visual arts field.
