UMass Boston's Middle/Secondary Education master's program readies you for initial certification as a middle or high school teacher. As a public institution with deep connections to area school districts, it's the ideal setting to earn your MEd.
This 37-credit curriculum features hands-on experience working with students during your first two semesters in diverse environments, a pre-practicum term requiring 100 classroom hours, and a culminating semester of full-time teaching in a secondary classroom. The program can be finished in 1 year (including summer terms) for full-time students or 2-3 years for part-time learners.
