Our MRP graduates enjoy numerous advantages from this status, including faster qualification for the American Institute of Certified Planners, increased earning potential throughout their careers, and enhanced competitiveness in the job market. The program maintains its current accreditation until December 2026. The Regional Planning Program aims to foster innovative and methodical solutions for tackling the physical, economic, and social challenges faced by communities of all sizes, from towns to larger regions.
The curriculum blends theoretical foundations with practical applications, covering historical perspectives, social dynamics, political frameworks, and technical skills in planning. Students gain hands-on experience through studio work and community service projects, with options for international engagement. We balance academic rigor with professional preparation in regional planning. Our graduates hold positions across government agencies, consulting firms, real estate development companies, private sector organizations, and academic institutions. Since the 1960s, they've pioneered social change initiatives including urban renewal, environmental conservation, advocacy planning, heritage preservation, growth regulation, economic advancement, and GIS applications.
The master's program delivers comprehensive training in regional planning, exploring fundamental theories, urban development patterns, planning methodologies, policy evaluation, social planning strategies, technological applications, and specialized planning techniques.
