As a plant biology graduate student, you'll collaborate with faculty across all biological scales, from molecular to ecosystem levels, pursuing either fundamental or practical research topics. Given the program's interdisciplinary approach and faculty's wide-ranging expertise, you can specialize in fields like cellular and developmental biology, evolutionary ecology, plant-microbe relationships, genomics and genetics, or plant-environment dynamics.
The Plant Biology Graduate Program (PB Program) offers advanced education while promoting faculty research partnerships across plant biology disciplines. With concentrations in Cellular/Developmental Biology, Evolutionary Ecology, Genomics/Genetics, and Plant-Environment Relationships, PB participants can investigate biological systems at any scale and pursue both theoretical and applied studies. The shared focus on plant systems creates interdisciplinary connections among PB members.
