The Biological Sciences program delivers an intensive introduction to contemporary experimental biology disciplines. Students complete fundamental courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics before advancing to specialized upper-level classes that mirror key research domains in modern biology, spanning molecular investigations to ecological systems. Undergraduate students can engage in pioneering research alongside distinguished faculty members. Our program structure ensures a well-rounded education suitable for careers in government or industry, while also laying the groundwork for advanced study in various professional or graduate fields. Students pursuing a Biological Sciences degree can opt for General Biology or select a specific concentration, with all majors completing identical CORE/General Education, foundational, and supporting course requirements—only advanced coursework varies by specialization.
The GENB track offers adaptable academic pathways for students with either broad interdisciplinary interests or focused concentrations beyond standard specializations. While requiring coursework across biological organizational levels, GENB allows deeper exploration of specific taxa or research areas. This concentration particularly equips students for graduate programs across biological disciplines, careers in secondary education, science communication, professional schools, biology-related business ventures, and fundamental or applied research endeavors.
