The Animal and Avian Sciences program offers a rigorous curriculum for high-achieving students passionate about applying biological principles and technological advancements to the stewardship, management, and research of domestic and aquatic species. Our Bachelor of Science degree is structured around seven core learning outcomes, which guide the progressive development of our courses to ensure graduates possess comprehensive knowledge and are prepared for animal-related careers or advanced studies. Alongside their primary academic advisor, pre-veterinary students receive additional guidance from an advisor in the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine's admissions office, conveniently located on our campus. Qualified students admitted to veterinary school before finishing their undergraduate requirements may pursue an accelerated dual-degree option.
