Welcome to the Chemistry Department at the University of Maine. As the sole institution in Maine offering both Ph.D. and M.S. programs in chemistry, we take great pride in our academic offerings. Most of our graduate students pursue Ph.D. degrees, with all first-year students typically receiving teaching assistant positions. Research assistantships become available, generally starting in the second year.
